Our candles are all handmade and produced individually. Each candle is unique, with its own blend of colors and distinct design.
Below are some maintenance tips to help you enjoy the Living Candles experience for many years to come.
CANDLES THAT "COME TO LIFE"
Our candles burn inward, meaning they don’t completely melt away. Don’t worry about lighting them—they won’t entirely dissolve!
The flame creates a well inside the candle, and as it descends, it illuminates the design from behind. Like a lantern or even a stained glass window, the candle reveals all its colors (and its magic) as the flame dances inside.
Made from the highest quality paraffin, our candles burn exceptionally long and do not produce black smoke. They are lightly scented but will not overpower a room.
Each ingredient has been carefully selected and comes from Europe. These candles are the result of years of research into the best materials and techniques.
Living Candles is also a family story, started by the artist Sandra Boedt in Belgium.
TOP TIPS
To enjoy this "magical" effect, here are a few instructions:
Keep the wick short (5mm). If you relight your candle, pinch the tip of the wick that has curled and remove it before lighting it. This will keep the flame small.
Use a long lighter or a long match rather than regular matches or lighters.
Once the wick has reached the bottom, pour a small amount of fine sand to level the bottom, then add a small tealight. This way, you can enjoy the Living Candles effect for many years!
Our products are handmade, so it’s possible for a small hole to form on the back of the candle—don’t worry, it’s normal! However, place the candle on a tray to prevent the wax from spilling onto your furniture.
